I’m a native Turkish speaker and a professionally trained language teacher based in Ankara. I graduated from Middle East Technical University with a degree in English Language Teaching and completed my master’s degree in English Language and Linguistics at the University of Westminster in London. I also hold a CELTA certificate and am currently completing Cambridge DELTA Module 2. I taught English to international adults at St Giles International in London for over a year and later worked with university students in Türkiye. Working with learners from different countries has helped me understand the challenges adults face when learning a new language. These lessons are suitable for foreigners who live in Türkiye, have Turkish-speaking friends or family, study or work here, or simply want to communicate more comfortably in everyday situations. Turkish may seem unfamiliar at first, particularly because of its word order, suffixes and pronunciation. I explain these features through clear examples. As I am fluent in English, I can use English when an explanation is needed. We can focus on practical situations such as introducing yourself, shopping, ordering food, using public transport, attending appointments and having conversations with Turkish speakers. We will also work on pronunciation, useful vocabulary and common sentence patterns. If you already understand some Turkish but find it difficult to speak, the lessons can focus more on conversation and helping you use what you already know. I will not interrupt you for every mistake. Instead, we will review the mistakes that affect communication or occur frequently. The content and pace of the lessons will be adapted to your level, needs and reasons for learning Turkish. My aim is to help you understand how the language works and feel more comfortable using it in real life.
